Our story, our passion, your game

Discover the heart behind Phoenix Racket Sports. We are more than just a shop; we're a community dedicated to growing racket sports across the UK, from beginners to advanced players.

Rising from the ashes: our beginning

Phoenix Racket Sports was born just after lockdown in 2021, a phoenix rising from the ashes of an incredibly challenging global period. Our main aim has always been to make racket sports more welcoming and accessible to everyone. We believe that new and returning players are the future of the sport, and our goal is to enable everyone to find enjoyment in physical activity.

We collaborate with other small, independent UK sports shops, sharing our experience and knowledge to ensure every detail is just right. Our commitment is to cut through the anxiety of online purchases, build lasting relationships with our customers, and offer expert advice and guidance to players of all levels.

More than just gear: our passion for sports

Beyond providing top-quality sporting goods, Phoenix Racket Sports is truly passionate about encouraging more people to get involved in sports and live healthier lives. We understand the immense joy that sports can bring, and we strive to make our products and services as competitive as possible.

We promise to always offer friendly, impartial advice. While we are a business, our ultimate goal is to see you succeed on court, helping you find your passion and reach your potential in tennis, squash, pickleball, padel, or, of course, badminton.

Meet the team: led by an international player

Behind Phoenix Racket Sports is founder Jack Isaacs, who, at 28 years old, has dedicated his entire life to badminton. His passion for the sport began thanks to his grandfather, Tony Isaacs, who started playing in the 1950s during his national service in the RAF. Tony’s commitment to the sport was so strong that he worked tirelessly to help build the Isle of Wight Badminton Association – an ethos we proudly carry forward today.

Jack progressed from local league play to Senior County Championships. It was at one of these matches that he met James Elkin, who recognised Jack's SU5 disability and introduced him to James Farmer and Richard Morris. This connection led to Jack attending UK para training camps and, in 2025, his first international tournament in Turkey, where he secured 54th in the world in the SU5 category. He later won bronze in both singles and men's doubles, making him number 3 in both disciplines in the UK.
